Brown Sugar Chili

This Brown Sugar Chili recipe has been in our family for as long as I can remember. My dad is a huge fan of chili and likes to experiment with different recipes… some definitely turning out better than others. Through all his trial-and-error, this one has always been a favorite. It’s easy to make and quick to throw together, letting the crockpot do most of the work. Perfect for parties, tailgating, or chilly nights at home, this chili is sure to be a hit with your family this winter.

Add on your favorite toppings, including:
-Shredded cheese
-Chopped scallions
-Tobasco/hot sauce
-Fritos
-Corn bread

The recipe is super versatile and easy to tweak to match your preferences. My dad really likes beans so he puts in two cans of kidney beans instead of just one. For additional texture, you can use crushed tomatoes in place of the tomato juice. Add jalapeños or chili flakes for some heat (this is a very mild chili on its own, not spicy at all).

Enjoy in a bowl by itself, over French fries, on a hot dog, loaded potato, mac ‘n cheese… the possibilities are endless!
